From formulating a book idea to reviving a backlist, Collins Literary helps authors with every aspect of successful publishing and career management. An agency built around the talents and prospects of our writers, we take innovative approaches to advances, subsidiary rights, book design, sales, promotion, and marketing-all the crucial components of the publishing process. Our interests and current projects are varied: literary and commercial fiction, narrative non-fiction, history, biography, memoir, politics, sports, science, and humor.
We are excited to welcome Ayesha Pande to Collins Literary Agency. She is joining the company as both Agent and Foreign Rights Director. She brings with her many years of publishing experience and we know that our authors and subagents will benefit from working with her. Ayesha Pande is a former editor with seventeen years of experience in publishing. Before becoming an agent she was a senior editor at Farrar Straus and Giroux, and she has also held editorial positions at HarperCollins and Crown.
She is looking for clients whose projects match her eclectic interests, from literary to popular fiction, including women’s fiction, African-American and international fiction. She also represents nonfiction, including biography, history, popular culture, cultural commentary, memoir, science, and some how-to. Some of her clients include Preeta Samarasan (Evening is the Whole Day, Houghton Mifflin, 2007); Ariel Glucklich (A Taste For Heaven, Harper San Francisco, 2009) Sheba Karim (Skunk Girl, FSG Books for Young Readers, 2008), Danielle Evans (Riverhead, 2009) and Michael Shilling (Rockbottom, Little Brown, 2008).
